Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha arrival
Meet your guide in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to the selected hotel. This arrival day allows time to rest, review park entry arrangements and confirm the order of the northern safari circuit.
Discuss driving distances, accommodation locations and the optional activities included in your quotation. An early dinner and careful packing of camera and sun protection are sensible before leaving for the parks.
Planning note: Arrival timing matters: a late flight may require a city overnight before a long road transfer.
Suggested overnight area: Arusha. Lodge selection will be confirmed in your quotation.
Day 2: Tarangire game viewing
Explore Tarangire National Park, known for elephant herds, striking baobabs and the Tarangire River. Your guide chooses suitable tracks through acacia woodland and open savanna, with wildlife concentration varying through the year.
In drier periods the river and wetlands can attract animals, while greener conditions provide a different photographic backdrop. Continue to your chosen lodge near Tarangire, Manyara or Karatu depending on the next park in the itinerary.
Suggested overnight area: Tarangire / Karatu. Lodge selection will be confirmed in your quotation.
Day 3: Tarangire scenic drive

Day 4: Lake Manyara safari
Visit the Lake Manyara region to discover groundwater forest, lakeshore scenery and wildlife habitats beneath the Rift Valley escarpment. A guided game drive may reveal monkeys, antelope, elephants and varied birdlife; sightings are always seasonal.
Allow travel time from the gate to available viewing areas and keep expectations realistic if lake levels or road conditions affect access. Overnight around Mto wa Mbu or Karatu where that supports the following day’s transfer.
Suggested overnight area: Manyara / Karatu. Lodge selection will be confirmed in your quotation.
Day 5: Serengeti transfer
Set out into Serengeti National Park, where extensive grasslands, rocky kopjes and river systems create some of Africa’s best-known wildlife landscapes. A guided drive may reveal lions, cheetahs, elephant, giraffe and grazing herds, with sightings dependent on season and animal movement.
Your guide plans the route to suit the part of Serengeti in which your camp is based. Seasonal migration patterns shift around the wider ecosystem and river crossings cannot be guaranteed. A well-placed lodge or tented camp reduces repeated long drives.
Suggested overnight area: Serengeti. Lodge selection will be confirmed in your quotation.

Day 9: Ngorongoro transfer
Travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and, where the programme includes it, descend to the crater floor for an authorised game drive. The crater includes grassland, wetlands and forest edges, supporting buffalo, zebra, antelope and predators among other wildlife.
Crater descent hours, fees, vehicle routes and access rules are controlled by the conservation authority. Allow ample time for the approach road and crater ascent; rhino sightings and any other particular species are never guaranteed. Overnight around Karatu or at a permitted property near the rim.

Spend time in Zanzibar, where the Indian Ocean, Swahili culture and historic trading towns provide a relaxing extension to a mainland safari. The exact day programme depends on your chosen beach region and hotel location.
Optional reef trips or cultural excursions require separate operator arrangements and suitable sea conditions. Keep the departure day flexible around domestic or international flight times.
Suggested overnight area: Zanzibar. Lodge selection will be confirmed in your quotation.
Day 12: Stone Town and cultural heritage
Explore Zanzibar’s Stone Town with a local guide, learning about coastal history through winding streets, historic buildings and community spaces. The best route depends on your interests, weather and available opening hours.

Suggested overnight area: Zanzibar. Lodge selection will be confirmed in your quotation.
Day 13: Zanzibar beach relaxation
Enjoy a relaxed day along Zanzibar’s coast, with time for swimming in suitable conditions, reading on the beach or exploring nearby villages with a local guide. Tides vary significantly on parts of the island, which affects swimming and water activities.
Optional snorkelling, sailing or a spice-farm visit can be quoted separately. Choose a beach hotel according to the atmosphere you want, whether quiet and secluded or closer to village restaurants. The day remains deliberately free of long road transfers.
